Internship Experience UK or IEUK is a four-day virtual internship programme (17th - 20th June) that takes place every summer with a new programme each year.


Designed to have the most value for university students, IEUK is an immersive programme packed with valuable insights and opportunities to help you navigate your career path. 

Whether you're unsure what sector to pursue, curious about specific industries, or seeking practical skills to stand out to employers, IEUK empowers you to explore diverse career possibilities and gain a competitive edge post-graduation.

So far, over 150,000+ students and graduates have taken part and reaped the rewards of spending a few days of their summer with the world’s top employers. Over 10,000 of them have even secured roles with the firms they met on the experience.

→ Opportunities in Health: Careers & Further Study - session recordings

If you missed the events in the ‘Opportunities in Health’ week which took place earlier this semester, you can now listen back to the session recordings.

This event series addressed a range of topics, from graduate study opportunities in the Faculty of Health and insights into different degree subjects (such as Neuroscience or Population Health), to the range of career options in the NHS and how to develop your resilience in your career journey.

→ Apply for a SME Summer Internship until 7th May!


Applications to the SME Summer Internship Programme close on 7th May - apply now to gain paid work experience with a local organisation!

The SME Summer Internship Programme offers 40 paid summer internships hosted by SMEs and charities across the Sheffield City Region.

All home undergraduate students who meet at least one of the Equal Opportunities in Careers criteria can apply, at any stage of their undergraduate degree. Not sure if you’re eligible? Find out in a few clicks!

Each internship has a minimum duration of 70 hours, paid at a rate of at least £11.44 per hour. The internships available cover a wide range of areas such as software development, marketing, events, and research.

→ Placement Year at the Students’ Union: Volunteering Projects Researcher & Organiser

Application deadline: 3rd May (5 pm)

This exciting placement opportunity provides the chance to lead a distinct project involving research, and activity programme delivery and evaluation.

Based on data and insights already collected, as well as your own research, you’ll plan a programme of activities and opportunities to be trialled and evaluated over the year, helping inform our programme and long-term offer for students.

You’ll work directly with students and have the support of a number of staff teams across the organisation to deliver your project.
