Year in Industry & Placements

Detailed information will be provided for Year in Industry (YII) at various stages of your course. The University's degrees with work experience receive extensive support from the Careers Service. Students must meet a specified level of attainment at the end of Years 1, 2, and 3 in order to remain on a Year in Industry course.

Students registered for standard courses will be considered for transfer to Year in Industry courses provided they find a suitable placement and that they meet the academic requirements for Year in Industry degrees.

Students who are registered on a Year in Industry programme but have not secured a placement prior to their placement year will be contacted to select their Final Year Project title during the summer. This ensures that these students don't only get to choose from the remaining titles following the allocation. If students end up securing a placement following this, we will not proceed with allocating a title.

If you are not on a Year in Industry programme and end up transferring to one before your final year, we will remove you from the allocation list. You should submit your change of programme form by 31st August.
