This term, students in Years 7, 8 and 9 have been exploring a range of topics across History, Geography and Ethics.
Year 7 have studied the medieval kings Henry II, King John and Henry III in History, exploring how they ruled and the impact they had on England. In Geography, they have learnt about rainforests, including their importance, biodiversity and the threats they face. In Ethics, students have examined the life and teachings of Jesus, focusing on key events and his messages about compassion, forgiveness and justice.
Year 8 have explored India and the British Empire in History, considering the impact of British rule and different views on empire. In Geography, they have studied oceans and coasts, looking at coastal processes and the importance of marine environments. In Ethics, students have learnt about Christian Holy Week and why it is central to Christian belief.
Year 9 have investigated the causes of World War Two in History, including appeasement, dictatorship and the Treaty of Versailles. In Geography, they have studied extreme weather and its effects on people and places. In Ethics, students have considered the ethics of crime and punishment, exploring ideas about justice, forgiveness and rehabilitation.
