Year 7 have enjoyed a journey through time learning about the Origins of Genre. Students have enjoyed reading about some of the important texts that boost their cultural capital such as the work of Mary Shelley, Coleridge and Geoffrey Chaucer.
Year 8 have been learning about Global Conflict a unit plan that allows then to analyse plays, poetry and prose. The students have enjoyed looking at the various types of conflict and the global context of this.
Year 9 have been reading Malorie Blackman's Boys Don't Cry. They have enjoyed using the novel as a platform to discuss toxic masculinity and break down stereotypes.
Year 10 have just finished their GCSE study of Romeo and Juliet, they should now be revising this ready for their mock examinations at the end of this academic year.
Year 11 and 13 are now preparing for their final examinations and we wish them lots of luck!
