On Tuesday 3rd on March, through to Thursday 5th March a wealth of activities took place at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy to celebrate all things World Book Day 2026. Just to add a little more interest, our theme for this year was
On Tuesday 3rd of March SGLA welcomed Kev F Sutherland for a day of comic streip writing and drawing, all under the genre of Sci-Fi.
The top 15 students from each college were invited to the session and much fun, and creativity was had!

Our winter gardens were also decorated for the week of World Book Day and lots of activities took place in the library, from creating your own alien to writing a Sci-Fi story. Teachers took time out of their bust schedule to discuss their favourite Sci-Fi books and had their titles on their classroom doors. It was another great celebration of all things bookish!
