Students come to counseling for many reasons including:
adjusting to college
relationship challenges
stress, sleep, motivation, or eating issues
anxiety and/or depression
identity exploration and/or discrimination concerns
In a private and supportive setting, a counselor will help you work through your concerns or connect you with resources that can best support you. Individual counseling sessions last about 50 minutes and are available in person or through telehealth (for students within Pennsylvania).
Counseling can support you in:
Gaining insight into yourself
Clarifying personal and career goals
Making thoughtful life choices
Developing independence and confidence
Building healthy relationships and habits

Before Your Appointment
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in on our ipad and complete your questionnaires.
Your counselor will review your information before bringing you in for your session.
Your Initial Consultation
The first appointment lasts 30–50 minutes.
We'll talk about what brings you in and how we can best support you.
Your counselor will ask questions to better understand your needs and help create a plan moving forward.
What Your Plan Might Include:
A one-time consultation
A workshop (e.g., managing anxiety, mindfulness skills)
Group therapy for shared concerns or identities
1–2 follow-up sessions for short-term goals
Short-term individual counseling
A referral to a community provider for longer-term or specialized care

Reserve PAC G31 (available 8am-6pm) using our Virtual Access Room Calendar in addition to booking your appointment with counseling.
Choose day/time & complete contact information
Receive a confirmation email with the G31 Room Access Code
To cancel a reservation - go to email confirmation
Complete yearly updates/forms that are required in the portal (orange flags on left menu).
Arrive 15 min early for the 1st appointment, check in on the ipad, and complete a questionnaire. Your therapist will review and come get you.
Schedule a Therapy Visit
Schedule a therapy visit with your most recent provider on the portal.
Every 3rd visit, complete a brief questionnaire at check-in. This takes about 5 minutes, so please arrive a little early.
OR
Schedule a Follow Up Consult
If you are desire 1-2 meetings to discuss referrals or get help with a short-term problem and are not interested in ongoing therapy, schedule a follow up consult in the portal with your provider.
Opt 3: If you can wait to an open-same day appt time in the afternoon, log into the portal and schedule one at 1 or 2pm.
While we are happy to offer virtual appointments upon request. Please note that licensing laws require us to only allow virtual appointments for individuals in the state of Pennsylvania at the time of their appointment.
