As a result of participating in this Discovery Week course students will:
- Students will attend SCUBA certification classes to learn theory and demonstrate skills as part of PADI Open Water certification.
- Students with PADI Open Water certification (or equivalent from another company) may seek Advanced Open Water Certification.
- Students will have a minimum of 5 dives included, and can sign up for additional dives if desired.
Course Description/Itinerary:
Please find below a preliminary outline of how our week will run. This may change, and we will update here if it does.
- Day 1: Fly to Saipan, check into and settle into the hotel.
- Day 2: Equipment preparation for OW and AOW. AOW: 2 dives with Syd; return to shop ~12:00 pm. Equipment introduction and confined water skills part 1 with Lisa. Break for lunch. AOW: 1 dive with Syd. OW: online coursework/questions & answers. AOW: return to shop, dismiss for individual study time. OW: dismiss for individual study time.
- Day 3: AOW: 2 dives with Syd; return to shop ~12:00 pm. OW: confined water skills part 2 with Lisa. Break for lunch. AOW: Debriefing, logbooks. OW: online coursework/questions & answers.
- Day 4: AOW: fun dives with OW group. OW: open water dives 1 & 2 with Syd and Lisa. Return to shop, break for lunch. Debriefing.
- Day 5: AOW: fun dives with OW group. OW: open water dives 3 & 4 with Syd and Lisa. Return to shop, break for lunch. Debriefing, logbooks.
- Day 6: Free day, fun dives possible. Set aside for inclement weather.
- Day 7: Return to Seoul.
Requirements/Considerations:
In order to participate in this course, students must:
- Complete a medical checklist required and may need a doctor's signature to confirm dive eligibility.
- Be able to swim 200m unaided in any stroke.
- Students will register and pay for the online learning course and DAN insurance independently. These costs will be deducted from the fees paid to the school.
- Sunday to Saturday
