Sound & Light Unit - 'Monkeying Around With Light' Worksheet

  • Follow the instructions on the worksheet to find items in your house to fit under each category

Vocabulary:

Opaque: means not able to see through

Transparent: means allowing light to pass through so that objects behind can be distinctly seen

Translucent: means to allow light, but not detailed shapes, to pass through


Some examples of items to try using a flashlight or the sun: prism, lamp shade, glasses, metal spoon, clothing, shoes, plastic toy, mirror, shiny object, wood.

Daily Calendar - 5 minutes

  • Briefly talk about the weather today and what it is like outside

  • Count the days of school: today is day 140

    • Count: 100, 110, 120, 130, 140

  • Today's secret number clues:

Spelling Activity - 15 minutes

Week 27 practice

  • Have a family member call out the words aloud and then you will 'type' them on this paper keyboard that can be printed out

  • IF you have a real computer keyboard, type them on there

Physical Education Activity - 30 minutes

Ensure you are getting 30 minutes of physical activity per day :)
