Equipping educators to recognize and respond to the impacts of trauma. This includes creating safe, predictable environments where students can develop resilience, regulate emotions, and engage meaningfully with learning.
This training template is designed to be presented in roughly 1 hour to a general educator audience (e.g., teachers, paraprofessionals) who have limited background knowledge on trauma.
We encourage a train-the trainer model (e.g., SpEd teachers can bring this training back and facilitate the learning with paraprofessionals).
The training offers a brief overview of the potential sources of trauma, the effect of trauma on brain development and behavior, and an introduction to supporting students using trauma-informed strategies within the classroom.
