Life Skills Curriculums
We're very proud of our home-grown Be Good People Curriculum, but it's hardly the only game in town. π For interventionists and special education teachers who provide instruction that supplements the core, it's important to build up your toolbox of curricular materials so that you're equipped to focus on students' areas of need, re-teach concepts, and provide repeated practice opportunities.
Core Instruction
In our districts, either Be Good People's Core Edition, Second Step, or a combination of the two represent our Tier 1 instruction. This is the instruction that all students receive, and it covers grade-appropriate skills in all five competency areas.
Supplemental Instruction
Core instruction alone won't meet all students' needs, and that's why our schools offer Tier 2, Tier 3, and SpEd interventions.Β
Students still receive core instruction, but we layer on additional teaching that targets specific needs and provides more explanation, repetition, instructor feedback, etc.
