As there are a lot of people like me who like winter, there are also a lot of people who complain about the weather this time of year. However, there are a lot of fun activities you could do in the winter. Some of the activities that you could do are:
Ice skating is a very fun activity for the winter even if you don't know how to skate you can try to learn. Some places you could go ice skating are at Prospect park, and Pier 2 at Brooklyn Bridge park. In Prospect Park prices are $8 on weekdays and $12 on weekends. If you rent a pair of skates it costs $8.71 but you can also bring your own skates. In Pier 2 at Brooklyn Bridge Park it costs $15 to enter and skate rentals are $5.
Most people take the Brooklyn Bridge for granted because they live here and are used to it but it’s a very fun and relaxing activity to do. It’s approximately 1. 1 mile long and the fastest you can walk through the bridge is 30 minutes and the normal time to walk through is about 60 minutes. The best time to go is early on the weekends to avoid crowds. You can make the walk across the bridge from the Brooklyn or Manhattan side but the best way to walk across the bridge is to start on the Brooklyn side.
In the cold winter days, indoor adventure is a fun activity where you can stay warm. In Brooklyn you can go to Area 53 which is in Williamsburg. Some things you can do here are ropes course, rock climbing, skating, ninja course, laser maze, slides, battle bean, and play at the arcade. Tickets for Area 53 are $42 on weekdays and $49 on weekends.
An escape room is a 60-minute activity where you and your team are "locked" in a room with only one way out which is solving the puzzles in front of you. The room is a series of puzzles, riddles, clues, and games that work in a series of events. If you solve the puzzles you can escape the room if you can’t solve it in 60 minutes then a staff member will enter the room to show you the clues you missed, walk you through the solution, and escort you safely outside where you will then be free to leave. Children are welcome 8 years and up. Kids under 12 years of age need an adult chaperone. The costs are for 2 players on weekdays for $70 or for 4 players on weekends for $140. One escape room that is nearby is the Brooklyn Escape Room.
One of the most famous places to watch a game in Brooklyn is the Barclays Center. The arena offers 17,732 seats for basketball, 15,795 for hockey. You can find tickets as low as $10. The Brooklyn Nets will celebrate Black History Month during each of the team’s five home games at Barclays Center in February by honoring the legacy and impact of Black pioneers across a range of industries. If you get hungry there are a lot of restaurants and snacks in the Barclays Center.
