Justice Stephen Breyer will step down after 27 years of being on the court he is one of the 3 liberal Justices left on the court allowing Biden to appoint a new justice the court is 6 conservatives and 3 liberals last year. Stephen Breyer is 83 years old he is the oldest person on the court and liberals have urged him to retire. Last year justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died at 87 from cancer allowing former president Trump to appoint Amy Coney Barret moving the court to be more conservative.

President Joe Biden did say he was going to appoint a Black Woman to the court which he now will have the opportunity to do so.

January 26, 2022, on January 25, 2022, last night in San Jose California, The city voted to make gun owners own liability insurance also to pay a yearly fee it is thought to be the first one in the U.S the city council almost unanimously approved the law however gun owners in the city said this violated the second amendment in the Constitution which is in the bill of rights which states you have the right to bear arms this was because after the U.S gained independence colonists had a not stable army so they got to hold guns. The owners said they shall sue the council.

Several of the council members who have lost people close to them due to gun violence said it was a step toward dealing with gun violence. One of the Councilman Sergio Jimenez called "a scourge on our society." liability insurance would cover losses or damages resulting from any accidental use of the firearm.
