Free New York Aquarium Tickets Wednesdays | 3-6pm | Reserve tickets here; free tickets are made available at 3pm the Monday before. Take advantage of free admission hours at the New York Aquarium in Coney Island, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Note that advance timed tickets are required; the Wednesday Afternoon Ticket Store will open on Monday at 3:00 pm for that Wednesday’s reservations. Do not come to the aquarium without a reserved ticket! There’s a maximum of 4 tickets per order.
Fresh Air Fund (sign up starts in January) https://freshair.org/ The Fresh Air Fund is a 2 week program running from June - late August. They provide a charter bus transportation to and from camp. Application for each program is available online.

The Garden Kitchen Lab Run by the NYC Parks in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn, The Garden Kitchen Lab is a free after-school program for children ages 8-13. This 2 months program offers hands-on learning in gardens, kitchens, and media labs. Participants will enjoy gardening, cooking, science, and digital media. The curriculum also includes journaling and media projects. Garden Kitchen Labs operates during three seasons: Spring, Summer (July-August), and Fall. NYSA is a FREE summer program for students ages 4 - 22, offering academic and English classes in the morning, art classes, social-emotional learning and physical education in the afternoon, and field trips every Friday. Eligibility letters for the Summer EBT 2026 are being mailed. Families should get letters in spring and early summer informing them of their child's eligibility for 2026. If you receive an eligibility letter, you will get a benefit. Benefits will begin issuance on June 16, 2026, and will continue to the end of the year. If you do not receive an eligibility letter by August 1, 2026, please call the Summer EBT Helpline at 1-833-452-0096.Summer EBT is an annual food benefit program that helps low-income families with school-age children buy groceries during the summer when kids might not have access to school meals. Most eligible children will automatically receive Summer EBT food benefits; however, some families may need to apply. Summer EBT benefits will be issued once per year, in the full amount of $120 for each eligible child. Benefits are loaded onto an electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card and can be used wherever SNAP/EBT benefits are accepted.

Summer Reading Challenge NYS Assembly-Contact your Assembly member (Students who pledge and complete reading for at least 15 minutes each day for at least 40 days during the months of July and August will be presented a New York State Assembly Excellence in Reading Certificate).

All Rise Reading Challenge Pairing Sora (free reading app for all students) with the summer reading book club lists from the All Rise Foundation is a win-win. Students who participate will receive a certificate from the All Rise Foundation and signed by Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees right fielder and team captain. Materials are available in English, Spanish, French, and Chinese.
Summer Meals: All Summer Rising sites will serve breakfast and lunch. Additionally, the following schools will serve as Community Feeders. They will be open from 8:00AM-9:15AM for breakfast and 11:00AM-1:15PM for lunch for everyone 18 years old and younger and there is no registration needed.
