Summer Rising Applications Open March 3 in myschools

All NYC residents in grades K–8 during the

2025–26 school year are eligible to apply,

including multilingual learners, immigrant

students, and students with disabilities.

Summer Rising runs from:

• July 1 through August 14 for students in grades K–5

• July 1 through August 6 or 7 for students in grades 6–8

These dates are subject to change.

Any changes will be announced directly to families.

Important Dates

• March 3, 2026: Application Opens

• March 27, 2026: Application Closes

• April 21, 2026: Offer Release

• July 1, 2026: Summer Rising Starts

Every year, New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) ask families, teachers, and staff in grades 3-K through 12, and students in grades 6-12 to take the NYC School Survey. The survey gives school leaders a better understanding of what members of their school community think about their school. The information collected by the survey is designed to support a dialogue among all members of the school community about how to make the school a better place to learn. 

The 2026 NYC Public Schools Survey is open from February 9 to April 1, 2026.
