Human Trafficking
Over 100,000 children in the United States are at risk for human trafficking every year. New York has the 4th highest number of reported cases of trafficking in the country. Education can play a key role in stopping predators and helping anyone at risk. It is imperative that students, educators, and parents are armed with the ability to recognize a child who may be at risk for exploitation.
In this workshop parents and caregivers will learn about the dangers human trafficking poses to students, adverse experiences that put students at risk for trafficking, coercion techniques employed by predators, warning signs, red flags and available resources.
