Dear District 22 Families,
The ads and storefront signs for “Going back to school sales” are clues that the 2025–2026 school year is almost here! I trust your summer was filled with sunny days, playful adventures, and cherished moments with loved ones.
Welcome back—to our wonderful returning families, and a big, heartfelt hello to all our new District 22 families! I’m truly excited to begin our third year of HMH, the English Language Arts curriculum through NYC Reads, and to launch our pilot math programs through NYC Solves. In social studies, students will incorporate civic lessons through Civics for All into their social studies curriculum. The new science shifts will guide our science lessons and experiences to reach higher expectations. Our dedicated principals, administrators, teachers and staff have been collaborating and engaging in professional development to ensure every student thrives this school year.
Your involvement is the cornerstone of our vibrant community. I warmly encourage you to connect through the School Leadership Team, Parent Association, and District Community Education Council (CEC). You’ll also find updated news, resources, and event details on your child’s school website and ours at www.csd22.org.
Please join us at our first District 22 Town Hall Meeting on Monday, September 15, 2025 via MTeams link https://tinyurl.com/091525TownHall where I’ll outline our goals for the year. A copy of the flyer is located here
If you ever have questions, ideas, or just want to connect, our wonderful family liaisons, Heather Fiorica and Linda Dalton, are here and ready to help with warmth and care.
Here’s to a year filled with discovery, growth, laughter, and joy. We can’t wait to walk this journey alongside you.
With gratitude and enthusiasm,
Julia Bove
Community School Superintendent
