The Hagan Scholarship Foundation: These scholarships are intended for high achieving students in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. Recipients must graduate in 2017 from a public high school located in an eligible state and in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents. Students must achieve a 3.50 GPA or higher and must score 23 or higher on the ACT. They must enroll in a four year college the fall semester following high school graduation and must work 240 hours in the 12 months prior to the start of each academic year of college. Students must complete the FAFSA in 2016 using 2015 Tax Information. For more information visit the following website:www.hsfmo.org. The application deadline is November 15, 2017.
Elks National Foundation’s Most Valuable Student Scholarship: This foundation awards $2.44 million in college scholarships to a total of 500 high school seniors nationwide through the Most Valuable Student scholarship contest. To be eligible, you must be a high school senior and U.S. Citizen. You will be judged on Scholarship, Leadership, and Financial need. Applications must be submitted to Jefferson City Elks Lodge, 901 Ellis Blvd. Jefferson City, MO 65101 by November 27, 2017. The contact person is Jim Howard. Applications may be dropped off daily from 3:00-8:00 PM at Elks Lodge or mailed, but must be received by the deadline. Stop by the guidance office for any questions.
The Show-Me Chapter: Offers various scholarships for a high school senior, or undergraduate, planning to major in conservation or a natural resources-related field. This is an essay contest. Information can be found at http://www.moswcs.org/scholarship/. Applications must be postmarked by November 27, 2017.
Conservation Foundation of Missouri Scholarship: CFMO offers various scholarships to high school seniors or undergraduates in different natural resources areas. Applications deadlines VARY. Information can be found at http://www.moswcs.org/scholarship/.
Columbia Honda Smart Choice Scholarship Program: The Columbia Honda Scholarship Program intends to provide 9 Missouri High School Seniors who have made smart academic and life choices with a $1,000 scholarship to make the smart choice to pursue post-high school education. See the following link for eligibility requirements http://www.komu.com/files/Smart_Choice_Scholarship.pdf You must be nominated by your high school. If interested, stop by the guidance office. Application periods run from (Oct. 16-Nov. 15), (Nov. 16-Dec. 15), (Dec. 16-Jan. 15), Jan 16-Feb. 15), (Feb 16.-March 15), March 16-April 15), and (April 16-May 15).
