United Credit Union Scholarship: Eight $1,000 scholarships are sponsored by the United Credit Union. Eligibility requires membership of the United Credit Union, planning to attend a school of advanced education, maintain a 2.75 overall GPA, good citizenship and leadership characteristics, and be active in school and community activities. Applications are available in the guidance office. If you would like to email the application, please send to ehercules@unitedcu.org. The deadline is April 1, 2018.
Fulton Breakfast Optimist Club Scholarship: This scholarship is available to a senior attending a high school in Callaway County and plans to continue his/her education after graduation high school. Applicants must have at least a 2.4 GPA on a 4.0 scale to be eligible. An emphasis will be placed on evidence of good leadership, citizenship and financial need; secondary consideration will be given to students who have not received any other scholarship funds or grants. A student who has received "Student of the Month" will have an extra point added to the award process. Applications are available in the guidance office. The application deadline is April 1, 2018. Applications will be sent from the guidance office on Tuesday, March 27th to meet the postmark deadline of April 1st, 2018. Any applications turned in after March 27th will be the responsibility of the student/parent to send.
West Side Business Association: Scholarships of $1,000 are available to graduating high school seniors attending college/technical school in the fall of “2018” whose employer or parent (s) employer is a member of the West Side Business Association. The application is available in the guidance office or click here. The applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2018.
Home Builders Association of Central Missouri Scholarship: Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who will be attending a two or four year college majoring in a construction related field the following Fall Semester. Students must demonstrate some basis of need and be close to one or more of the following: meeting academic standards or a 90% attendance rate. Participation in extracurricular activities and involvement will be considered. Preference will be given to construction related fields, including Construction Management, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Excavating and other specific trades/and/or majors. The guidelines and application are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 1, 2018.
Merrell University of Beauty Arts & Science: Offers the annual Cosmetology scholarship and A+ Completion scholarship to an outstanding graduating senior. The award is valued at $1000 towards tuition when the student completes a 1,500 clock hour course in Cosmetology, Hairdressing, & Manicuring. Merrell University in Jefferson City also offers a $1,000 scholarship towards tuition when the student completes a 1,200 clock hour courses in Esthetics. South Callaway PTSO Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior wishing to pursue post-secondary education. The PTSO committee will determine the recipient after interviews are conducted. The award will be given AFTER the applicant has successfully completed one semester of college. The application will be required to provide proof to the PTSO president through a college grade report, as well as proof of enrollment in the 2nd semester. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 2nd, 2018.
Farmers' Mutual Insurance Company of Callaway County: A minimum of 2 scholarships in the amount of $500 will be presented to a Callaway County high school graduating senior, who's family must be a current policy holder of Farmers' Mutual Ins. Company of Callaway County. The applicant must be beginning their post secondary education for the first time in the fall following high school graduation. Applicants must also submit a written essay on the following topic: Describe your involvement in school and community activities and what impact they have had. What are your plans for the future? All applications must be postmarked on or before April 2, 2018 to qualify. Applications are available in the guidance office.
Fulton Rotary Club Scholarship: In an effort to show support toward the students of Callaway County, the Fulton Rotary Club will offer a $1000 scholarship to a gradating senior who exhibits high standards in scholarship, leadership and citizenship. The recipient must also qualify for financial aid. This scholarship is valid for the college or vocational school of their choice throughout the 2018-2019 academic year. Applications are available in the guidance office. The application deadline is April 6, 2018. Applications require a letter of recommendation from the guidance counselor. Be sure to submit your application in advance to allow time to write a letter of recommendation. All applications will be sent from the guidance office on April 4th to meet the April 6th deadline. Any applications turned in after the 4th will be the responsibility of the student/parent to send.
Christian Memorial Auxiliary Scholarship: Students are eligible for 3 $1,000 scholarships by meeting the following requirements: Students must be a legal resident of Callaway County, a senior graduating from a Callaway County High School or an employee of the Christian Memorial Hospital, and who will be enrolled in a health related field of study. Scholarships will be awarded on a basis of merit as determined by the Auxiliary's Scholarship Committee. Applicants should include a high school transcript, three letters of reference, and submit a brief biographical statement about yourself. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 9, 2018.
National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA): The NAIFA of Mid Missouri if offering one $500 scholarship to be used for post-high school education at a college, university, technical or trade school. Students must submit an essay with the title of "The Importance of Insurance and Financial Planning". Stop by the guidance office for the application. Entries must be postmarked by April 16, 2018.
Lola Cook Dzurick National Honor Society Scholarship: This $500 scholarship was established in memory of Mrs. Lola Cook Dzurick, whose commitment to students at SC was unparalleled. Mrs. Dzurick graduated from SC, did her student teaching at SC, and worked at SC for her entire career of 37 years! She left an indelible mark on our school and community, therefore her legacy will live on as this scholarships helps to support educations lives of students at SCHS much in the same way that Mrs. Dzurick enhanced the lives of her students. Applications are available in the guidance office. Students should return applications to the guidance office. The deadline is April 17, 2018.
Erickson James Walters Memorial Scholarship: This $500 scholarship was established by the Walters' Family in memory of Erick Walters, a 2008 graduate of South Callaway High School. This scholarship is intended to assist a student who enjoys working with their hands and seeks further education in learning a skill or trade. This scholarship is not GPA based. The applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college, vocational school or university. Applications are available in the guidance office and should be returned to the guidance office by April 18, 2018.
South Callaway FFA Scholarship: Two $150 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating FFA member who plan to continue their education at a postsecondary institution. The application and guidelines are available in the guidance office. Applications can be submitted to the guidance office or an FFA sponsor by the end of the day on April 18, 2018.
South Callaway Fine Arts Club: Any Fine Arts Club member in good standing of the South Callaway Fine Arts Club is eligible. One $100 scholarship will be available and will be awarded at the awards assembly in May. Applications are available in the guidance office and must be submitted to a Fine Arts Club sponsor or guidance office no later than April 20, 2018.
Braeden Sconce Memorial Scholarship: The Sconce family established this scholarship in memory of their son, Braeden Sconce, a 2017 graduate of South Callaway High School. Two, $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to seniors from South Callaway. Students will be required to submit the completed application, typed essay, and at least one impact testimonial. The scholarship committee will make a selection based on the the completeness of application; quality, grammar, and depth of personal essay; impact testimonial; verbal thoroughness and presentation; and general appearance of application. In the event that additional information is required, the applicant may be asked to interview with the committee. Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship: One $500 award will be awarded annually and is limited to only one student per high school. Basis for eligibility: (1) Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate one student to be considered for the award. (2) The nominee will be selected on financial need, participation in athletics, involvement in school activities/clubs, volunteer work, leadership qualities, high moral standards and extreme patriotism (3) Must be a Missouri resident (4) Must use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university. Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship: The award of a $1,000 scholarship for students who meet the following eligibility: (1) One boy who has attended a full session of the American Legion Boys State of Missouri or Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy or (2) One girl who has attended a full session of the American Legion Girls State of Missouri or Missouri Cadet Patrol Academy, (3) Must be a descendent of a veteran having served 90 days on active duty in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps or Cost Guard of the U.S., and having an honorable discharge, (4) Be a resident of the state of Missouri, (5) An unmarried, dependent under the age of 21, (6) Must be attending an accredited college/university as a full-time student, (7) Consideration for scholarship will be determined annually for high school graduates in need of financial aid to attend a college/university, (8) the scholarship must be used the first fall semester of a college/university following graduation from high school. Joseph J. Frank Scholarship: The $750.00 award will be paid at the beginning of the student's first semester at their college of choice. Basis for Eligibility: (1)Applicants must have attended a full session of The Missouri BoysGirls State, (2) Must be a descendent of a veteran having served 90 days on active duty in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps or Cost Guard of the U.S., and having an honorable discharge, (3) Applicants must be a resident of Missouri, (4) an unmarried dependent under the age of 21, (5) and must be attending an accredited college/university as a full-time student, (6) consideration for the scholarship will be determined annually for high school graduates in need of financial assistance, and (7) the scholarship must be used the first fall semester of a college/university following graduation from high school. M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Fund: The $1,000 scholarship will be based on the following eligibility: (1) One applicant planning a career as a Registered Nurse. The scholarship must be used the first fall semester upon completion of high school, (2) Must be a descendent of a veteran having served 90 days on active duty in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps or Cost Guard of the U.S., and having an honorable discharge, (3) A resident of Missouri, (4) Unmarried, dependent under the age of 21, (5) Must be attending an accredited college/university as a full-time student, (6) Consideration for the scholarship will be determined annually for high school graduates in need of financial aid to attend a college/university, (7) application must graduate in the top 40% of his/her class. Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship: An award of $750 will be given at the beginning of the student's first semester at their college of choice. Basis for eligibility: (1) Must be member of the American Legion Family, i.e. Legion Member, Auxiliary Member, S.A.L. member, or a descendant of any member thereof, (2) Be a resident of the state of Missouri, (3) An unmarried dependent under the age of 21 (4) Must use the scholarship as a full-time student in an accredited college or university, (5) Consideration for scholarship will be determined annually for high school graduates in NEED of financial aid to attend a college/unversity, (6) Scholarship must be used the first fall semester of college/university following graduation from high school. Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship: The $750 scholarship will be paid at the beginning of the student's first semester at their college of choice. Basis for eligibility: (1) be a descendant of a veteran having served 90 on active duty in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States, and having an honorable discharge; (2) be a Missouri resident; (3) Consideration for scholarship will be determined annually for high school graduates in NEED of financial aid to attend a college/university, (4) must be planning to major in education and provide a statement from the high school counselor and ACT/SAT scores, and (5) Be a full time college/university student and use the scholarship in the first fall semester of a college/university following graduation from high school. South Callaway FBLA Scholarship: A $100 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating FBLA member who plan to continue their education at a postsecondary institution. The application and guidelines are available in the guidance office. Applications can be submitted to the guidance office or an FBLA sponsor by the end of the day on April 21, 2018.
South Callaway French Club Scholarship: $200 scholarship(s) will be awarded to graduating French Club member(s) who plan to continue their education at a postsecondary institution. The application is available in the guidance office. Applications can be submitted to the guidance office or Mrs. Baysinger by the end of the day on April 24, 2018.
Early Childhood & Elementary School Scholarship: This $250 scholarship is to be awarded to a South Callaway graduate. Students must describe how South Callaway Schools has prepared them for the future. Applications are available in the guidance office. Students must turn in applications to the guidance office. The deadline is April 25, 2018.
Noelle D. Estrada Memorial Scholarship: This $600 scholarship is not GPA based. The primary goal of this scholarship is to reward an individual who has readily given to the community through volunteer work and work with children with special needs. A+ tutoring may be used as part of this scholarship. Applications are available in the guidance office and must be turned back in to the guidance office. The deadline is April 30, 2018.
Donald L. Gibbs Scholarship: Two $1,000 scholarships will be offered to one senior boy and one senior girl graduating from South Callaway High School. Students must demonstrate financial need by completion of the anticipated expenses portion of the application, must show outstanding academic ability and character traits, and have been accepted for enrollment in an institution of higher education. Applications are available in the guidance office and must be turned in to the guidance office by April 30, 2018.
Columbia Honda Smart Choice Scholarship Program: The Columbia Honda Scholarship Program intends to provide 9 Missouri High School Seniors who have made smart academic and life choices with a $1,0000 scholarship to make the smart choice to pursue post-high school education. Heart of Missouri Board of Realtors: This scholarship is open to any high school senior attending a high school in Callaway or Audrain Counties, and an essay is required as part of the application. It is in the amount of $500 and is a one-time award. A 500-1000 word essay is required. Stop by the guidance office for the application. Deadline is April 15, 2017.
Callaway County Farm Bureau Scholarship: To be eligible for this scholarship you must live in Callaway County and student/parent must be a Farm Bureau member for a minimum of 1 year prior to the April 21st deadline. You must also plan to pursue a degree in an agriculture or a related field. Applications are available in the guidance office. The application deadline is April 21, 2017.
Jill Berni Memorial Scholarship: This memorial scholarship is for any high school senior who will attend a vocational/technical institution, community college, college or university and pursue a career in culinary arts, dietetics, food service management or hospitality. A letter of acceptance to a school that has a program in the above areas is required as part of the application, as well as a high school transcript. Applicants will be evaluated on financial need, career goals, academic achievement and recommendations. Applications are available in the guidance office and must be postmarked by April 7, 2016.
1st Financial Federal Credit Union: Students are eligible for the $1,000 Horizon Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who is a member of the 1st Financial Federal Credit Union in good standing. Judging will be based on academic achievement, writing assessments, as well as the student's potential and financial need. Students must submit an essay on the following question, "Please explain how a banking relationship with a credit union change the community". Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 8, 2016.
First Financial Credit Union Scholarship Program: To be eligible for this $1000 award, students must be a current member in good standing at First Financial Credit Union, graduate from a public or private secondary school during the 15-16 school year. Judging will be based on academic achievement, writing assessments, as well as the student's potential, and financial need. Applicants must write an essay based on the following question: "Please explain how a banking relationship with a credit union changes the community." A copy of your most recent report card should also be included. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline is April 8, 2016.
Kathryn McCormack Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is to be awarded to a South Callaway graduate who has shown outstanding achievement in the area of business. FBLA membership is not a requirement for this award. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 25, 2016. Applications must be received in the guidance office by the end of the day on Wednesday, April 25th.
Callaway County Family & Community Educational Association Scholarship: The Callaway County FCE is offering a scholarship award in the amount of $250 to be used for the continuing education of a worthy Callaway County resident pursuing an education and career in the Home Economics or Agriculture/Agribusiness Field preferably, but will consider other fields of education. The application deadline is April 9, 2015. Stop by the guidance office for a copy.
Delta Sigma Phi-Beta Beta Chapter: The Man of Achievement Scholarship is open to high school graduates of 2015, males attending the University of Missouri-Columbia in the Fall of 2015, and a 3.0 GPA. Applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation, complete a personal interview (if selected as a finalist), and complete the essay, academic and activity documents. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 30, 2015.
The Robert J. Bodley Academic Scholarship Award: This $1,200 award is sponsored by the Missouri Association of Building Officials and Inspectors and is in memory and honor of those that have served their communities as building officials, fire officials, and inspectors. This award is eligible for incoming freshman that are registered at a two or four year college/university and have declared a major that the committee deems beneficial to the organization such as code technology, engineering, architecture, fire science, etc. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 1.
International Association of Insurance Professions: $250 scholarship to a Spring 2013 graduating high school senior who plans to attend an accredited college or university following graduation, and who attends a high school in one of the following counties: Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard, Moniteau, and Randolph. Application deadline is April 18.
