Leaving to Learn Reflections (Field trip summaries.)

• BCA Gallery Visit
  • This was a really interesting trip. It gave me a lot of inspiration for projects; both art wise and Big Picture wise. Afterwards I was a little overwhelmed, though. I think trying to interpete all the art was kind of giving me a headache. I loved seeing all the different creations, though!
• Shelburne Museum Service Day
  • I was assigned to painting a wall with 3 other people on this trip. It was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be! I liked the repetitiveness of it, and that I got to get dirty. I had a bit of a hard time working with my team, though. But it was a good opportunity to focus on just what my job was, and not anything else. It was a great learning experience.
• VCAM Interview Workshop
  • I thought this event was really educational. We watched different videos that showed several types of interview options, which was really cool to see. We also worked on in the moment note taking, which was cool to experiment with. It was a little difficult, but useful to the future interviews I would do.
• Practice Interview Event at Big Picture
  • Although this event was well thought out and organized, I found myself at the end of it being glad it was over. It was really overwhelming having all these people in one room, and asking and answering questions was quiet tiring. I am glad I did it, though! It was a good opportunity to get interviewing tips and tricks.
• Mock Debate at Ethan Allen Homestead
  • The homestead itself was AMAZING, and this activity was the cherry on top. We were each assigned character cards, and then asked to vote on whether we would want one person to be mayor or another. It was really fun! Since I'm an actor and a history finatic, the whole experience fit me like a glove. 10/10!
