GOAL(s):
To get done half of my full BFBMIATSA project. So, to splice together a backing track/mashup for the songs Let it Go, Show Yourself, and Into the Unknown to sing at the SBHS talent show my senior year. I've been doing the talent show for three years now, and I want to make my senior year extra special! I’m also going to memorize the lyrics and learn how to sing the song I create. I am also going to be creating/learning a little bit of choreography to go with it.
OUTCOME: What were the actual outcomes? Did you meet your goals?
I feel like in some regards I met my goals, but in other aspects I didn't. I feel like I successfully created my backing track, and I'm almost to the point of memorization. But I wish that I did more with research and note taking. I've learned over the years that researching and note taking isn't my strongest suit, and that was prominent in this project. In regards to outcomes, Mrs. Bushey said that she would coach me until the talent show! So I'm pumped for that.
REFLECTION: In this project, I learned the value of a one-on-one meeting. I had two that stood out to me- one with Jim and one with Mrs. Bushey, the chorus teacher here at SBHS. Both of them helped me shape what the project ended up being. In the meeting with Jim, we discussed what was working and what wasn't, and then made a plan to improve. With Mrs. Bushey, she gave me feedback on my performance and made a plan to work with me on it in the future. I think on my next project, I will have these meetings earlier. I think that would decrease my stress levels, as well as improve the end products.
