What is the Identity Maps activity?

Students create a visual representation of their identity using words, drawings, and symbols.

Why is this strategy important?

Promotes self-awareness and allows peers to appreciate each other’s backgrounds and interests.

How to use this strategy?

1. Give each student a blank piece of paper or template.
   
   

2. In the center, write their name or draw a self-portrait.
   
   

3. Around it, add branches for categories (e.g., family, hobbies, culture, dreams).
   
   

4. Share in pairs, small groups, or with the whole class.
