- Discussion about College and career indicators.
· Go to the CA dashboard to look at information about college and career information.
o Students demonstrate multiple ways to show they are ready. Many of them contain achievements on CAASPP. They should score 3 or higher on both exams, they don't need to take placement tests when going to a CSU. The focus is to improve the number of students who are C and C-ready.
o Currently at 49% using one of these indicators. Goal is 100%. 0% ss with a disability, and 15% of our EL students are ready.
o As a staff, giving students more exposure to the CAASPP test. Large gaps for three years with no CAASPP testing. Lack of familiarity and gaps in learning. Using the interim assessments to help support students and monitor progress. In the Fall students take the interim test as a benchmark. See growth over the year. Eng and math dept analyze results.
o Will be recognized at graduation with a seal. Had to get permission from the district. Connects with the WASC goals. All subjects are responsible for teaching many different subjects. For example: chemistry teaches math; PE teaches speaking and listening.
o Administration of interim assessments will require a schedule change and teachers will vote. Some teachers oppose wasting the day or lack knowledge regarding how to effectively use the data or how it applies to them. Connects to ECHS vision statement: confident students.
