2. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes: Shannon Fox, Secretary

3. Admin Report: Principal, Evelyn Welborn
The AP tests are coming up (May 6-17). Of the 473 students enrolled in an AP class, 320 are taking the AP exams. El Camino offers fourteen AP tests. Next year they will add two more: World History Modern, and Psychology.
We touched on upcoming school events such as Power Puff Game, Evening of Jazz, Junior Prom, GPA Awards, AVID senior celebration, EPI Tech Night, and Undergrad Awards. One of El Camino’s students was chosen to receive a Dell Award which consists of a computer and $20,000 towards college.
Lesley Leatherwood from the FACE department has Prom clothing available for free again. She is looking for suits, dress shirts, and shoes to fit males.
4. Student Report: Nick Bernasconi representing the Native American Youth Club.
Requesting $180 from PTSA to purchase 32 shirts that they will then sell for $10 each.
The Native American Youth Club is looking to partner with Mr. Carson & the Environmental Science club to help rewild a portion of the campus. A good spot for plants/vegetation is between the 40s & 50s west wing.
Barb Lezon works for the California Native Plant Society and can help connect Nick and the group with people and plants.
5. President's Report: Tracie Hewitt
Morgan Stanley - we are still trying to get a new check for student E.K. from last year ($500). PTSA voted to pay for it and have Morgan Stanley reimburse us since she’s been waiting for a while.
5. Vice President's Report: Jennifer Flohr -
The Brick Sales count as a “Self Help Project”. We have to first have the contractor and bricks to get the project approved.
-Evelyn has a meeting this Friday (April 5) with the COO and superintendent of M&O. She will confirm the facilities plan so we aren’t installing something that is going to get demolished.
6. Treasurer's Report: Becka Stephensen (absent) presented by Shannon Fox
-Shannon gave Evelyn the gift cards we agreed to (twenty $5.00 gift cards) for intramural sports. Evelyn will give them to Mr. Tim Peppel.
- She updated the treasurer form to show the funds remaining in the activities/clubs account ($400).
- Reimbursement check of $50 needed for Becka Stephensen as she had to pay for the Baskin Robbins gift cards (see above) with cash.
7. Committee Reports:
Holly Fales: (absent) They are getting ready for Staff Appreciation Week May 6-10. She will let us know what they need.
Scholarship Report: Barb Lezon-
There have been 12 online applications turned in. She will reach out to Mr. Rafiq to see what hard copy applications were turned in. The deadline is Friday. Evelyn said that they can send out a “Talking Points” reminder in all languages to the senior families. Barb needs to send her blurby and the link to Donna Pelletier to send it out.
All Night Graduation Report: Julie West
- Grad Night is coming along! They are getting $260 from Boosters, $50 from Safeway, $100 from Smart & Final, and $250 from a client of Julie’s. They have over $600 in items for the cash cube. They do need more people to volunteer for shifts. Also, after May 1st they need to touch base with Lesley Leatherwood about which students need a Grad Night Ticket scholarship, and give her a hard deadline.
8. Upcoming Action/Expenses -
Tracie & Jennifer have a fundraising idea. “Best of Arden Arcade” and invite alumni of El Camino who have wares to sell and businesses to promote. There would be an entry fee and the businesses could offer samples or sell products. The band could play at the event.
They looked into the Dante Club because there are ties to El Camino there, but we can’t bring in our own food and drink. Other considerations include the Elks lodge, Del Norte, or the clubhouse at Gibbon’s Park.
They would hold the event at the start of the school year to not interfere with Booster’s Crab Feed.
10. Open Floor / Questions for Admin
