4. President's Report: Tracie Hewitt (absent)
5. Vice President's Report: Jennifer Flohr - We are going to move forward with the brick sales. They can be personalized. We still want to coordinate with the 75th anniversary of El Camino. Evelyn would like to touch base with Jennifer outside of the PTSA meeting to talk about location and get in touch with facilities.
6. Student Report/Request: We had a large attendance from the Avid class. Each grade level was requesting funds for projects. PTSA voted to give the seniors $200 for their movie night fundraiser for April 19th. The Juniors asked for help with a compliment box. PTSA voted to give them $100 for their activity. The Freshman lacked details about their event. Evelyn W., asked them to come up with a plan and meet with her about it. The Junior boys wanted to write letters to seniors. Shannon F., volunteered to purchase the supplies they need and mail them when they are ready. All checks were distributed after the meeting.
6 ½. Teacher Request: Mr. Peppel is the intramural advisor for lunch time activities. He asked for extra money for equipment (spike ball net and score board flipper, etc). They have 60-100 spectators for the activities. He was also interested in starting a “Mystery Teacher/Staff Member of the Week” activity and wanted prizes. PTSA voted to give him $300 for intramural sports. The check was given to him after the meeting. PTSA voted to give him twenty $5 gift cards for prizes for the Mystery Teacher game.
7. Treasurer's Report: Becka Stephensen
-The “Clubs & Groups” report is no longer accurate as we just wrote checks for Avid and Mr. Peppel.
8. Committee Reports:
Holly Fales: They are going to do a “Wizard of Oz” theme in the staff room. They would also like the staff member sign-up forms so they will hopefully join the PTSA and help fund our hospitality (It’s $10 to join as a staff member)
Scholarship Report: Barb Lezon-
They already have 6 applications in. They are going to make posters and notify the students about the opportunity to apply.
All Night Graduation Report: Julie West
- They have received lots of donations. Don Quixotes & Wing Stop agreed to donate food to grad night. Leatherby’s gave sundae cards that will go in the “Going Away Gift” good bag for kids as they leave.
Since gift cards don’t float in the cash cube, the students can catch a voucher for gift cards and redeem after 3:00 am for their gift card. They will also have a coffee cart and food out at 3:00am.
There is a link to sign up for shifts for grad night. It will go out in the PTSA newsletter.
9. Upcoming Action/Expenses -
Evelyn will check with Lesley L., to see when we can drop off donations (dresses, clothes) for Prom & Senior Ball.
Senior’s Honor Breakfast is coming up on May 23. We need a committee.
We also need help on 4/24 during lunch, and 5/1 during awards night (dessert donations)
Shannon will update the 24-25 Membership Form.
