Mentor Monday this week will be on Tuesday.

We welcome Ms. Higman, a local business owner, and March 16th Evan Tando, a real estate investor. Come learn, ask questions, and get inspired! Sign up in the Wellness Center.

SBAC Testing for all 11th Graders continues this week. Avoid missing school for Periods 2/6 or 3/7 this week!

For 2nd Period, unless otherwise notified, 11th grade students should report to the following Testing Locations based on last name

- A-F: Library
- G-P: Cafeteria
- Q-Z: Rm 186

Bring your fully charged district-issued device and headphones/earbuds.

Wednesday, March 11th

Interested in a career in the medical field? Then make sure you attend the info session on March 11th! If you are testing - you can come to the main office at lunch that day or after school and fill out the Google Form and get a permission slip! The trip itself is on March 23rd at UCSD Hillcrest. See Mr. Camacho or Ms. Patterson for more information.

We will be holding our annual Pops Concert in the MBHS Auditorium on Wed, 3/11 at 7pm. All are welcome to attend! Admission is free, but a $5 donation is recommended and welcome!

Saturday school will be held this Saturday. Check your attendance, clear up any unexcused absences and Sign up for Saturday School if needed.

This Saturday is the Super Stem Saturday field trip! Those that signed up will also get Saturday School credit for participating.

General Announcements

Voice of San Diego recently awarded Mission Bay High as most improved since 2021.

Voice of San Diego’s Acorn Awards, developed in partnership with UC San Diego Extended Studies Center for Research and Evaluation, offer recognitons to highlight schools that outperform expectations on a metric comparing student income to test scores,.

“Out of all the schools in San Diego County, since 2021, Mission Bay High School has improved the most on our income vs. test score metric.”

Buccaneers, the Black History Month Art Contest is open to all students!

Submit an essay, poem, artwork, song, rap, or any creative work celebrating a Black American historical figure or event.

Everyone who enters gets a free prize, with cash prizes for winners. Entries are due March 17 at the Valencia Park/Malcolm X Library, 5148 Market Street, and the Awards Ceremony is March 20. Visit aawasd.org to learn more!

Here is our summer schedule:

Training Day- Mon, July 27 1pm-4pm (be flexible and allow for an extra hour if needed)
Orientation Day- Thurs, July 30 7am-3pm (lunch provided)

Freshman Tailgate: before first home football game 8/21

ALL DATES ARE MANDATORY

If you are interested and eligible (2.0 GPA and CPA) complete this application by Fri, April 24 and receive a Link Crew t-shirt!!! Late applications may be accepted but space and a shirt will not be guaranteed.

ACES TUTORING - Open before and after school in the Library! Every Monday through Friday in the mornings from 7:30 - 8:30 and every Monday through Thursday in the afternoons from 3:30 - 5:00. We have teachers across all subject areas to help you!

On Minimum Days, ACES is OPEN in the morning but CLOSED in the afternoon.

On Late Starts, ACES is CLOSED in the morning but OPEN in the afternoon.

TREAT is held everyday at lunch please report by 1:30 Students can make up a tardy in the auditorium with Mrs. Filamor or with a participating teacher.

Showing up matters. When you miss school, you miss out on learning, friends, and opportunities. Be present, stay on track, and remember: showing up today sets you up for success tomorrow.

We’re launching Mentor Mondays from January–May and are seeking caring adults to share their career experiences with 11th and 12th graders during lunchtime. Your guidance can inspire students to explore future opportunities. Join us in making an impact!
