First Grading Term! The first Progress Report term ends in just 2 weeks! Friday, Sept 19th.
Be sure that you are checking your Canvas and Powerschool grades and that you are on track. Check in with your teachers, attend ACES befor or after school, visit TREAT teachers at lunch and get the supports you need! Progress report grades determine your eligibility to participate in Athletics.

TREAT (Teachers’ Restorative Educational Approach to Tardiness). This is a great way to help you clear up tardies as well as a way to get extra help, work on assignments or make up assignments.
Every day, during lunch, students can make up a tardy in the auditorium with Mrs. Filamor.
OR - you can see one of the following teachers. To visit these teachers, they must be one of your teachers. If you don't see your teacher on this list, you can always ask them but do not assume.

All students in grades 9-12 have been added to a new informational classroom on Canvas.
The San Diego Unified Informational Classroom is designed to be a place for high school students to access important updates and information relevant to them – anything from district policy updates like the Phone-Free School Day to scholarship opportunities.

New Guest Wireless Network - SDUSDGuest
This network is designed to provide internet-only access along with district resources that are internet-facing.
Who should use this network:
Personal devices (BYOD) for staff and students
Important Notes:
Users must accept the district’s Terms of Service upon connecting.
Internet filtering may be more restrictive on this network.
The SDUSD and SDUSDDevices networks remain for district-managed equipment only.
The blood drive workers will be in the auditorium this Wednesday, September 10th, from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
In order for students to be eligible to donate, you must be 17 years of age and bring a valid form of identification. Registration is online, and there are limited appointments. If a student registers for an appointment, they will be given a pass to leave class.
Anyone who donates blood will receive a complimentary ticket for Sea World's Halloween event this year!
We have an opening for a student member on the School Site Council (SSC). The SSC works directly with Dr. Brown to approve, and monitor the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and how Title I dollars are spent.
If you are interested in joining the council, please submit your name to Dr. Brown by 9/15. You must be a 10th or 11th grader as you will serve on the SSC for 2 years.
Senior Contract - Senior your contracts are overdue. Please turn in signed contracts ASAP to your English teacher or Mrs. Filamor. If you are planning on attending the homecoming this contract must be in.

Hoco Tix Prices are now $85 with ASB Card and $95 without. We accept credit cards (with a 4% service charge) but the credit card machine is not always functioning so have a back up plan (cash or check made out to Mission Bay High School).

Homecoming Dance @ Parq Nightclub in downtown San Diego- Sept 20 6:30-9:30pm.
You MUST have a SIGNED Dance Contract to purchase your ticket.
**Be sure to check the MBHS Dance FAQ for answers to your questions***
REMINDERS!!!! If you are bringing a guest to the dance. YOU MUST CHECK IN WITH YOUR GUEST for them to be let in. Guests who arrive without their student hosts will not be let in. If a student host enters the dance wtihout their guest they will not be able to exit to sign in with their guest and the guest ticket will be forfeited.

Freshmen- nominate 3 students for Lord and 3 students for Lady

Seniors- nominate 3 students for King and 3 students for Queen
ALL STUDENTS- nominate 3 staff members for Emperor and 3 staff members for Empress
Voting will take place on Wed, Sept 17 via Google Form open 8:30am-3:30pm.
Your Emperor/Empress will be announced at the pep rally on Sept 19.
Freshmen, Sophomore and Junior court will be announced at the Homecoming Half Time Show.
King and Queen will be announced at the dance on Sept 20.

Club Rush: Our 2025/26 Club Rush will be held on Thurs, Sept 25 at lunch! Sign Up HERE by Tues, Sept 23. You must have attended a Club Meeting at lunch in order for your club to participate. The next meeting is Tues, Sept 16. If you are planning to fundraise be sure to complete the fundraiser application by 9/23 to get approved.

LCFF data is collected every year for every student. Have you completed yours for 2025-26?
LCFF is critical data used to support funding for our school and the school district to allow us to provide services and resources for your children. Families are asked to complete this 2 question survey for EVERY student EVERY year. We thank you for your continued support!
Parents can submit LCFF data through the PowerSchool Parent Portal using their own accounts. This form is not accessible through student logins. Job aids are available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese to assist families with the Parent Portal process. You can request a paper form from agriffin@sandi.net
