Are you interested in becoming a parent volunteer at LMEC?

We are in need of up to 12 parent volunteers to assist us during Casa, elementary, and secondary lunches as well as Casa naptime. Nov 4th: Drive-Thru Celebration for our Straight A Eagle Scholars & Outstanding Eagle Scholars!

On Thursday, Nov. 4th from 4:30-6:00 PM we will host a drive-thru recognition activity for our students who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher on the first progress report - more details will be sent to the families of those specific students. We will be recognizing more than 200 students! Great work Eagles.

Is Your Child Struggling Academically?

There is still plenty of time for students to improve their grades but we need to start now. Good grades start with good attendance - please make sure you are sending your child on-time to school everyday. Also, most math teachers are now offering tutoring support. Please contact your child's math teacher directly for details.

And finally, please do not hesistate to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to communicate with your teachers is via email. Please CLICK HERE for a list of all LMEC teacher email addresses.

Cell Phones & Social Media

A reminder that per San Diego Unified district policy, cell phones should be turned off and in a student's back pack during school hours. Students who have their phone our or are using the phone during school hours will have their cell phone confiscated and turned at the end of the day, for a second offense the phone will be confiscated and a parent or guardian will have to come pick the phone up. If you need to reach your child during the school day, if you contact the office we can get a message to your child.

It is also important for parents to monitor their child's phone use and social media accounts. CLICK HERE for a great article on how parents can help their children learn to use social media responsibly.

Calling Our Main Office Line (619) 344-6500

Based on feedback from families, we are changing our automated message. Starting Monday you will hear a new automated message when you call the LMEC main office line. Please listen to the whole message as our recording has recently changed. Please press 1 for the message in Spanish. Please leave us a voice message and we will return your call within 24 hours.

For general questions when calling the site please press 0 when listening to the automated message.

If you are picking up a student for an appointment, especially during lunchtime, please call the office an hour before to make sure your student is ready. You can also send a note with your student the morning of so they know to expect you.
