"This sculpture was made during the global COVID-19 pandemic, when the suspension of many aspects of my normal life led to a creative burst. My studio is a daily refuge for working through heightened emotions, and I have felt renewed gratitude for my time, space, and creative practice as an outlet for expression and a deepened resolve about the role of art as a healing tool. For materials, I use what is readily available and transform scrap materials I have on hand. The scale of my work is the size of my body and relates to the tactile nature of my relationship with the materials."
