If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them at home. If they have been sick, have a fever or an upset stomach, they should stay home until they have been symptom-free for at least 48 hours.
If a student is absent from school due to illness, the parents must notify the school via MU Elev fravær as soon as possible.
If the student is absent due to illness for more than two weeks, the school may require a medical certificate (any cost to be covered by the parents/guardians).
If the student can’t be taught at the school for a long time due to illness or other reason, the Municipality must ensure that the student is taught at home or in the hospital. The school has a duty to contact the parents/guardians no later than three weeks after a student has last participated in the teaching, so that the school can initiate teaching that corresponds to the teaching the student would have received at the school.
Early dismissal due to illness
Students who get sick during the school day should notify their teacher, who will arrange for the parents/guardians to be called to come and collect them (usually in the reception depending on what has been agreed with the parents). Parents/guardians are expected to arrange collection of their child as soon as possible. Students in P4-S4 will be allowed to go home by themselves if they have permission to do so by their parents.
When a student goes home early from school due to illness, their absence for the remainder of the school day is excused. However, if the parents/guardians keep the child home another day or longer due to illness, they must notify the relevant teachers to ensure the absence is not recorded as unauthorised/unlawful absence.
Our staff will deal with any minor injuries sustained by the students during the school day such as cuts, grazes or bruises. The staff will return to their normal tasks and the students will return to class. If the students have had a bump to the head, we will cal the parents/guardians as a precaution and monitor the children.
In the event of a more serious incident than that described above, parents/guardians will be contacted immediately so they can take their child to the doctor or Accident & Emergency. In the event of a very serious injury, and where we can’t reach the parents/guardians, we will call the emergency services.
It is vital that parents always keep their contact information up to date and are contactable on their phone during the day.
First aid kits are available in the Administration (Reception area) and the After School Care.
The school has two inclusion pedagogues, whose focus is the children's well-being and overall development in school.
They work in collaboration with the class teachers/pedagogues and act as sparring partners. The inclusion pedagogues work closely with the Municipality's Ressource Center and help coordinate individuel and joint initiatives regarding well-being and inclusion issues at the school. Sometimes the inclusion pedagogues are also invited to attend network meetings or other relevant meetings with parents.
The Secondary students can contact inclusion pedagogue Maria Mavioglu in her office every Monday between 11:00 -13:00 if they have concerns or well-being issues that they wish to talk about.
Also known as Orientation Evenings or Open House.
Each year, in November, the school organises information evenings for parents, who wish to know more about the school and are considering applying for admission in Primary or Lower Secondary. The programme, time and location is published on the school’s website at the beginning of each school year.
Another information evening is organised in January for anyone interested in applying for admission to the Upper Secondary/Gymnasium.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer individual tours or meetings regarding admission during the year.
International House Copenhagen offers advice and information about living in Denmark, housing, career guidance, schools, CPR numbers, NemID, tax, etc. for international citizens. They organise various events and seminars throughout the year which are described in more detail on their website.
