The school's official Facebook page is: Facebook.com/EUROPEANSCHOOLCOPENHAGEN.
Fastelavn, the Danish version of Carnival (Lent), is celebrated in the school in the traditional Danish way. The children and staff dress in costume and hit wooden barrels (fastelavnstønder) full of treats. The child who knocks down the first piece of the barrel is the "kattedronning" (queen of the cats) and the child who knocks down the final piece of the barrel is the "kattekonge" (king of the cats).
The European School Copenhagen is a publicly funded school and does not charge school fees or admissions charges.
Educational materials and books are also provided free of charge.
The Municpality charges a monthly fee for the After School Care. See more information under After School Care.
Fire drills are organised regularly every year to ensure that the students and staff are familiar with the school's emergency procedures.
Info to come.
The school can order a free school travel card (skolekort) for students if they are resident in Københavns Kommune AND the shortest route to school (according to www.krak.dk) is:
0–P3: More than 2.5 km
P4–S1: More than 6 km
S2–S4: More than 7 km
S5: More than 9 km
The travel card may be used free of charge on buses, trains and metro within the required zones for home to school transport and is valid on weekdays between 4am-7pm .
The travel card is automatically updated for the next school year. If the travel card no longer works, it is most likely because the criteria are no longer met, e.g. the distance requirements have changed due to a change of grade level or because of a change of address.
If you think your child meets the above criteria and you would like the school to order a travel card for your child, please send an email to admin.escph@kk.dk or Aula message to Administration ESCPH.
If your child lives outside Københavns Kommune, you can contact the Municipality of residence regarding eligibility for a free school travel card. See more information here.
