Studio 2: The Light

Synopsis

High Concept: “The Light” is intended to provide the player with an emotional experience as they traverse the game. The player will play as a character that suffers with an anxiety disorder and will have to use coping mechanisms to travel through a metropolitan landscape in order to get to their destination.

Genre: Informative Adventure Game.

Core Mechanics:

  • An interactive light mechanic that dims on contact with enemies and lightens via implemented coping mechanics

  • Coping mechanics used to simulate a coping mechanism that someone with an anxiety disorder could use to calm themselves

  • Enemies that interact with the player’s light mechanic in order to dim or snuff the light
