This was our second project for ceramics, we had to incorporate 5connected pinch pots into our final design. for this project i made a little red truck compete with chrome wheels, headlights and tinted windows. this project challenged me in many ways.
I made this by creating first an extremely large pinch pot to serve as the body and built other pinch pots around it so that the final design would be hollow. I also had to add some supports inside underneath the cab to keep it from drooping before bisk firing. I put the truck on blocks underneath it so that wouldn't have all of its weight on the very skinny wheels.
I then had the truck bisk fired after it had air dried for multiple days.
after the bisk firing, I glazed the truck. it needed 3 layers of every type of glaze to achieve the desired result.
it was then fired for the final time.
Overall I am happy with the way that the truck turned out. I like the mix of matte and shiny colors and the boxy shape of it. if I was to do this project again I would spend more time smoothing and being more careful with the glazes, this would have made the finished project have much more polish and look better.
