AP Studio Art

This year during Advanced Studio Art, I was able to explore my strengths and weaknesses. I enjoyed being able to create my own projects because it offered the chance to try new things. I had never used a wood burner before this year and found that I enjoyed it, and how my final product came out. However I didn’t stick with this, in order to fit my concentration, I used mainly paint, fine point pens and the occasional collage. This year I enjoyed creating my own projects, unlike last year I felt very inspired by my concentration and usually had an idea for my next piece.

I feel as though the ideas behind my work has improved drastically from last year and throughout this year as well. I’d like to believe my concentration, unlike last year, makes those who look at have to think harder than just one glimpse. I also believe that I have branched out with my materials. I tried wood burning along with collage, which isn’t something I usually choose. One of my favorite pieces I’ve created this year is Tin Man.

Art has always been a big part of my life. This year allowed me to combine my love for the Avett Brothers with my passion for painting and drawing, and it has been very rewarding. Music has been a big part of my life. I started playing the guitar when I was in sixth grade, and it has always been my secret outlet. Playing, along with art, brings me peace so being able to combine the two has made it a very pleasant year.
