Mid-term artists statement

In this piece I had to mix two different artists together into one piece of art. My assigned artist was Andrew Goldsworthy, he made sculptures with natural materials like rocks, sticks, leaves, mud, and wood. Andrew did environmental art. This artwork I created connects to him because it is stacked rocks on a stump. Andrew showed what you could do with the materials around you based off of where you live. I made this show where I live by using rocks from the beach. My other artist was Jackson Pollock, he made art by pouring and splattering paint on giant pieces of paper. Jackson did abstract expressionism. During his time he made pieces that showed how he felt due to WW2. My artwork connects to him because I used paint and poured it all over the rocks and also splattered it everywhere. I was really cold at the time and I wanted to show it by making the paint marks as crazy as I could.
