Creative color project

In this assignment we had to use every color and their shades and tints. The title of this is called "squid". I created an abstract work of art. I used the following mediums to create my work: pencil, outlining, acrylic, and shading. Some of the art-making techniques I used are: drawing, painting, outlining, and shading. I used the following elements of art in my artwork: color, line, shape, and value. To add interest to my composition, I used these principles of design: pattern, unity, and balance. This artwork is about how I like pop art but I wanted to use just bright colors and darker colors for shading. I wanted it to be more cartoonish than realistic. I wanted it to mostly be about colorful shapes that fit together to make a squid. This completed work makes me feel happy and excited that i'm done. By creating this project I learned that painting takes a very long time, and I also learned that i love acrylic paint because I can just layer it. In future pieces of art I may try to take my time and use my time better to improve. I will definetly try to create something like this again. I added my own original style by mixing up the colors and keeping it simple like a cartoon.
