Collage painting

In this assignment we had to create a collage of 3 different pictures and I chose to do a gecko in space with the earth for his eye and a crown on his head. I used the following mediums to create my work: acrylic, collage, and pencil. Some techniques I used were painting, outlining, and drawing. I used the following elements of art in my artwork: color, line, shape, texture, and value. To add interest to my artwork, I used these principles of of design: movement, pattern, and unity. This artwork is about humor. This created work makes me feel happy because it makes me laugh. I have one of these geckoes and I care a lot about him so this piece means a lot. By creating this work I learned that i'm better at painting than I thought I was. In the future I will do better on working from the background to the foreground.
