DON'T TRUST THE PRETTY FACE!

You can find something underneath...

The subject of this drawing is basically people tend to guide themselves because of a pretty face, we judge people for their appearance and later when we take out that mask that hides the real person underneath, we realize we were wrong.

To do this drawing I used tracing paper to do the square pattern on the shirt and to draw the details on the skull's face. Then with diferents pencils thicknesses I started to draw the shadows to add more value to the drawing, as you see the light is coming from the right. Then to make the drawing more outstanding, I used pigments liners to remark the borders of the shirt, the edges of the skull and the hair texture.

This is a formal structured drawing since is like a portrait of how a person really looks like. The focus in this case is the skull face, since is the most important element of the drawing. Also I just use black and white because nowadays when you want to show the real image of the person, you take all the colors and then you are able to see who is hiding in all that beauty.

I had planned to live the shirt just blank, but then I thought the drawing would look more interesting if I do a pattern to the clothes, and since squared shirts are used by people a lot, it would give the drawing something more familiar to the people when they see the drawing. Things that I could probably add, maybe a red and blue background so it gives more emotions, or just coloring the shirt with red, white and black.
