It's important for students to understand how their brains work and how it can change.
Teachers are the BRAIN CHANGER
when students learn something new, they are creating new pathways, connect existing pathways, and strengthen those pathways as they revisit, repeat, and reflect on learning.
Students can learn that they are the “boss of the brain”.
If they just play video games, they strengthen those pathways but perhaps lose the strength of connections in other areas.

This can also be applied to emotions. Once students learn to recognize, they can grow in their ability to describe emotions. They can then identify causes and create emotions, analyze how emotions affect behavior, and evaluate how emotions affect others.
