Check-Ins:
A great way to find out how each student is feeling and help them become more self-aware
Can be done by questions in morning meeting or through classroom activities
When students are engaged in daily activities such as working on a project, a math problem, or writing assignment, write a question on the board and ask them to fill in the blank with just one word.
Examples:
How are you feeling right now?
What do you do when times get tough?
How do you feel right now about your life?
You can substitute friends, family, relationships, school
How do you feel about our class?
Ask students a question
How are you feeling?
What’s new with you?
What do you want to share with me?
Helps to get to know your students better
