The rental inventory in Pueblo is low, so you might want to be somewhat aggressive in your search.

Here are some short-term (less than 1 year) rental options:

Airbnb or vrbo (Vacation Rentals by Owner) as they provide short-term rentals (and also may be booked further out, so you wouldn’t have to wait to book them).

I’ve attached rental information on the luxury apartment complexes in town. They do provide some short-term rental units. They will most likely not know if they have any rentals available prior to 30-45 days of your move. (However, you may want to ask if they have a wait list that you can get on for your move-in date.)

Our RE/MAX office has one of the largest property management departments in town. They manage approximately 1000 rentals. However, they primarily offer 1-year leases; so may not be the best option as you may have to break a lease. (If you choose to do this, make sure you know what the consequences are if you do break the lease.) Their website is: PuebloAreaRentals.com

You can also check realtor.com, homes.com, craigslist and other websites; as they now have rentals online as well as homes for sale.

During your search, please be careful of scams. (This comes along with having a low inventory rental market; Colorado is a prime market for this.) Two of the most popular scams are:

1-"Steal" photos of a real property in Pueblo and put up your own ad asking for deposits to "save the property" for the renter. Once they collect several deposits, they close their "ad" and PO Box and start over.

2-Beware of ads that offer "too much information" or sound too good to be true; i.e., "I know our property is at a lower rental rate, but it's because we really want someone to take care of our beautiful home while we're on a mission trip in _____....." Then later in the ad, they may ask for a copy of your driver's license and want your social security #. Obviously, this is an identify theft scam. Property managers/landlords will need this information for credit and sometimes background checks, but usually not with a first inquiry.

Please feel free to use me as your Pueblo resource to ask about neighborhoods, to drive by or preview a property to let you know what it's like (in which I will tell you as much about the negatives as the positives, as no one wants to be surprised when they show up), or to call and set up an appointment to see a potential rental (as usually if you ask for a showing and they're willing to show it, it's a "real" rental).
