Health Insurance

Can I get health insurance after I graduate until my employers insurance starts? 

Yes the university offers Students graduating have the option of temporarily extending their health insurance for themselves for up to six months and dependents for three months.   Click Here to Enroll in Continuation Insurance.   The continuation enrollment and payment is processed directly through AHP/BCBS.

 

Students enrolled in dental and/or vision Insurance will have their coverage end on the last day of June; there are no extensions available for that coverage.

 

Applying for Continuation of Student Health Insurance Coverage through AHP/BCBS:

v Covered students must have been insured for at least three (3) continuous months before coverage terminates under the current plan

v Rates will be based on the current school year

v Coverage can be extended up to a maximum of six (6) consecutive months

v There is no renewable option and no refunds are available after you have selected the coverage

v Your effective start date of coverage will be July 1st

v Continuation must be purchased within thirty (30) days of the current coverage termination date.

Additional Loans


Can I get additional loans to bridge the gap from when I graduate until my employment starts? 

Yes these are referred to as residency and relocation loans. These are private loans that are available.
