Applying for one of two distinctions offered by the College of Nursing can be done using the steps outline in the documents below. For doctoral candidates that have completed Original Research, utilize the Distinction in Research application. For doctoral candidates that have completed an implementation of Evidence Based Practice project, complete the Distinction in EBP application.
Students may apply at any time during year two or three of the DNP program. Students must remain in Good Academic Standing and not receive a professionalism violation at any time. A change is status will render the student ineligible for the distinction. Students must be actively participating in a project of original research or evidence implementation within their specialty program.
1) Submit a letter of intent to the CON Associate Dean for Doctoral Research,
2) Provide a letter of support from their assigned Faculty DNP Project Advisor,
3) Make an appointment with their Faculty DNP Project Advisor to complete the application and determine a timeline to achieve all required elements,
4) Submit the completed application prior to the end of NDNP 932 (Winter, Year 3)
5) Submit all materials to the D2L course shell prior to April 1 in Year 3
