Weekly boarders must advise Residence staff about their weekend plans by Thursday and make arrangements through the Residence Coordinator. For a regular (non-holiday) week, weekly boarders are expected to leave before 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and return by 9:00 pm on Sunday evenings.
Weekly boarders can stay on campus on weekends and pay a rate of 1,800 baht per night (Friday and Saturday). If the student is required to attend an RIS event on the weekend, weekly boarders can stay for free of charge on the night before the event. If the event schedule runs past 7:00 p.m. the student may also stay on the night of the event (free of charge). Students must inform the Residence Coordinator of the event and get approval for the stay.
Students must immediately communicate with residence staff members about any plan changes.
Please remember that RIS Residence closes at 5:00 pm before a long holiday begins. After a holiday, the Residence opens at noon the day before school reopens.
Students must go home during holidays or have arranged to stay with their guardians in Thailand. RIS provides transportation to and from the airport for students traveling by plane for these holidays. The residence must be vacated by 6:00 p.m. on departure days.
Parents are asked to provide flight information at least two weeks before travel so staff can arrange transportation and adequate staffing. For the winter (December) holiday and summer break, students should wait for the exam schedule to be published before booking their flights, as there are no classes after exams.
All students must empty their rooms at the end of each school year. Boxes will be provided for students. Returning students may pack and store their belongings at the Residence over the summer. However, we do not recommend keeping any valuable items in Residence. RIS is not responsible for lost items.
