English is the language that is encouraged in all common areas of the Residence. All boarders must speak English in all group settings—meals, study hall, and activities. If the television is used, it should be on an English channel with age and language appropriate content. Inappropriate language is not acceptable.
This helps to ensure that everyone is included and non-native English speakers can practice their English language skills. Invited friends or guests are expected to also abide by this practice.
APPROPRIATE ATTIRE
Students must adhere to the RIS dress code during school hours and wear appropriate clothing when leaving the dorm room. Pajamas, underwear, or clothing that reveals cleavage, midriff, or upper thighs are examples of inappropriate clothing.
