Planned leaves that are scheduled ahead and were given prior approval to take the time off to do whatever and wherever the employee desires.
Eligibility: All regular employees are entitled to twelve days paid vacation leave per annum which is credited (1 day) every 1st of the month.
On Probation: Probationary employees earn 1 VL credit every month, but such credits can only be utilized upon regularization. Should the employee take a vacation leave within the probationary period it will be tagged as ‘leave without pay’.
Leave credits of probationary employees who will be not regularize or for non-continuance shall not be converted to cash upon separation.
While on Other Leave: Employees who are on other leave type for thirty (30) days or more will not earn leave credits except for those on Maternity Leave and Magnacarta Leave. If the VL is between 15 to 29 days, the employee shall only earn 0.5 leave credits.
Upon Termination: Upon resignation or separation of the employee, unused leave credits shall be converted to cash depending on the daily rate of the employee based on when the credit was earned and shall be included in the final pay. However, excess vacation leave credits shall not be included in the conversion.
Carry Over: All regular employees can carry over five days of their unused leave credits by the end of the year over to the following year. Leave credits in excess of five days must be used until March 31st of the following year, otherwise, unused leave shall be deemed forfeited.
