The Advanced Placement (AP) Spanish Language and Culture course is a rigorous course taught exclusively in Spanish. The course is an intense study of oral Spanish, focusing on conversation, review of selected points of grammar, reading of literary and non-literary texts, discussion of current events, and videos. The students are expected to achieve an extremely high level of proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Extensive grammar and vocabulary study are simulated in preparation for the AP exam. Students in this course have the option of earning UCONN college credit. There is a registration fee for UCONN enrollment. Upon successful completion of the course the student receives three university credits (3 credits for Spanish 3179: Spanish Conversation: Cultural Topics) at the grade earned.
