I am Mrs. Vargas, and I am very excited to write that this is my first year teaching at RIHS! This year marks my fifth year teaching English at the secondary level. I have taught Life Skills courses previously as well.

I attended a handful of colleges, but I especially loved my time at Cal Poly Humboldt where I earned my BA in English with a concentration in Teaching English as a Second Language. I went on to complete the Single-Subject Credential Program at Stanislaus State University.

When I am not at school (GASP!), I enjoy exploring the outdoors, live music, yoga, and keeping my dogs active and entertained.

I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to join the RIHS team, and I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us.
