Our classroom is a ... mistake-making, laughter-sharing, independence-building, brain-stretching sort of a place.
I can't wait to get started and learn with you!
I am Mrs. Maderos and I am so excited to teach English at River Islands High School. I am a first generation Pakistani-American. One interesting fact about me is that I migrated from Karachi, Pakistan to the United States when I was 11 years old so I learned English as a second language. As a young immigrant I fell in love with the world of literature and the profound impact of written word. I am passionate about English Language Arts and I love to bring that passion into my classroom everyday.
I graduated from UC Irvine with a Degree in American Politics and Public Law in 2011. I promptly returned to my hometown of Manteca, California after graduation where I pursued my teaching credential and Masters in Education Program in Educational Leadership from National University. Recently, I just earned my preliminary Administrative Services Credential from Teachers College of San Joaquin. I am Great Valley Writing Project Teacher Consultant and a Teacher Mentor.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family! We love to travel to new places and try new foods. I love all things Disney, my students, a good cup of coffee, and laughing until my belly hurts!
