Twinnin'!
Dear parents, students, and school community:
We have a little over two weeks under our belts as a school. This week, we will engage in the first in a series of assessments to monitor our current levels to aid us in planning our instruction for all students. Beginning Monday, students will take the Measures of Academic Progress in English Language Arts and Math. It is important that we know where we are to determine how best to get to where we need to be. Students are encouraged to relax and do their best. Also, Friday is an early-release day for students. School ends at 11:45 am. Our first school day next week will be Tuesday, Sept 3 after Labor Day.
Continue to engage us if you have any questions, concerns, or needs! Let's have a great week at The Creek! GO GATORS!
Yours in service,
Principal Clayton B. Moton
Let's take a moment to recognize and celebrate our Gator Nation students, staff, and community members!
When a helping hand or two are needed, Gator Nation is always there! Mr. Ronnie and Mr. Bobby came to Dr. Bacote's rescue who had a bad tire shortly after Mr. Kostecki, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Fields, and Mr. Moton helped a parent in a similar situation earlier the same day! Gators care!
Mrs. Funderburk had her first Leader in Me session led by a student! Great job, David!
Mr. J's class uses the jigsaw method to encourage collaboration among his students!
7th grade students in Mrs. Funderburk's class engage in a Rocket Launch activity!
Our students are working hard to incorporate the habits on a daily basis. This week they will focus on Thinking about Thinking and Growth Mindset as they pertain to Habit 1: Be Proactive.
Learning Standards: Learners will be able to assess the impact of a growth mindset on their personal and academic success and will practice encouraging others to have a growth mindset. Learners will be able to explain how growth and fixed mindsets impact results.
Hard to believe we are heading into the 3rd full week of the year, but here we are! By now, students are engaged in content and have started to receive grades in core and related arts classes. Our Learning Management System Canvas allows parents to observe students as they navigate through the learning process. If you need to set up a Parent observer account, see the directions below by accessing the link. Your child's teacher or grade level administrator can provide your student(s) pairing code. It is good for one use or expires after seven days. If you have previously set up an account, you will continue to use it her Dutchman Creek!
