We are GATOR NATION!!!
Dear parents, students, and school community:
Weather aside, I could not have asked for a better Opening Day of the school year! We traditionally begin our new year with a high energy pep rally that is designed to introduce us to each other and to ignite the imagination to the possibilities of a fun-filled year of learning! This year's pep rally did just that! Judging by the energy and participation, we are in for an OUTSTANDING year at The Creek!
I look forward to our first full week in the building. All of our students are already acclimated to the operation of school, including our very sharp 6th graders. On Thursday, plan to join us at our "Meet and Greet (and Eat) at The Creek" Open House from 6 - 7:30 pm! This will be an evening to drop in casually to engage with the faculty and staff of Dutchman Creek at your own pace and to fellowship with others in our cafeteria area with several food trucks on site!
At Dutchman Creek, we are "Growing and Developing Leaders...One Learner at a Time!" It is a collective effort, so thank you in advance for your partnership! Have a great week! GO GATORS!
Yours in service,
Principal Clayton B. Moton
Let's take a moment to recognize and celebrate our Gator Nation students, staff, and community members!
We are grateful for Brian Hollington and family, owners of Island Driving Academy, for providing lunch for the staff during Teacher Prep Week!
We are grateful for Pastor Walker Wooten and members of Inspiration Baptist church for providing a pancake breakfast for the staff during Teacher Prep Week!
Dr. Jesse Han of Athlete Recovery and Chiropractic Health and his assistant, former DCMS student Elyse Jackson, provided micro-massages and adjustments for teachers during Prep Week!
Thursday's weather was brutal to say the least, but Mr. Robinson braved the elements from 7:45 am until school started to ensure each kid that needed to cross the street to the building was safe! A Gator Nation salute to one of the most humble and dedicated teachers at The Creek!
Mr. Ellison became a Gator Nation legend by winning the Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament during the Opening Day Pep Rally! As a member of the Related Arts department, he represented the entire student body against staff representatives of 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade! With encouragement from close to 600 6th and 7th graders, he faced Mrs. Williams-Wilson from 8th grade in the finals! By winning, ALL students were able to dress down this past Friday!Â
In the morning: Keep your child in the vehicle until you HEAR the announcement around 7:45 am. Dropping them off early and leaving is not allowed. This is to ensure that we have proper supervision in place to keep all children safe.
In the morning and afternoon: In the main car line, decide ahead of time which way you plan to exit campus and remain in that lane. This will allow us to have a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up experience. Cutting in line is not only inconsiderate, but is also an avoidable road hazard. Thank you for respecting your fellow drivers!
When you buy OFFICIAL products from our website, the proceeds will go back to kids! Other shops online do not invest back to us! Visit our website (www.rock-hill.k12.sc.us/DCMS) or directly at DCMS Gator Gear Online!Â
